Wow! Another hit out of the ball park with the audiobook rendition of Comeback Hero, book 3 of the Redleg Security series by Jackie Walker. Jacob Morgan’s interpretation of Shep is gritty, hilarious, and blazing hot. It did take me a chapter or two to understand his choice of vocal inflection for the book’s sentence structure, but once I did, I could hear all of Shep’s emotions.
Ava voices such a perfect Kri that I just wanted to stand in the room and watch this story play out in real life. Ava’s voice is so strong, but she drew a vulnerability out of Kri’s point-of-view that was everything about the way I interpreted Kri when I first read this book, long before the audiobook version was released.
If you love a STEAMY audiobook, I highly recommend all of the Redleg Security series. Listen to them in order. There is a series-wide story arc.
