Jillian is a master at writing stories with what I like to think of as a micro-universe. Rather than glossing over a story arch’s timeline, which can make it difficult to understand how characters develop such strong feelings or just how quickly (or slowly) the story actually progresses, Jillian Dodd gives you such a detailed timeline of events that it seems like you are living the story with the characters. This is especially effective when writing teenage characters like Arrington, Prince Augie, Johnny, Beckham, and Branson.
You will laugh out loud, cry real tears, and want to pull your hair out at the adventure Arrington and her friends experience during their long weekend away from school. If you love an angsty teenage drama, you will love Kisses Don’t Stay Secret… after you start with book 1, Best Friends Aren’t Forever. This series is not a set of standalone stories; I recommend reading them in order.
